| Mabalingwe
Nature Reserve -- A haven for eco-connoisseurs |
| |
| Abundant
game, breath-taking vistas, worldclass facilities and
true South African hospitality all of these are to be
found at Mabalingwe, Place of the Leopard. Situated
in the heart of the Bushveld on a 4500 hectare game
reserve surrounded by the Baviaansberg range, Mabalingwe
is nature at its most awesome. Of the big five, rhinoceros,
elephant, leopard and buffalo call Mabalingwe their
home. With its numerous carnivores, 17 antelope species,
more than 230 bird species and 140 indigenous tree varieties,
Mabalingwe offers unequalled eco-viewing. An easy hour-and-a-half
drive from Pretoria (slightly more from the greater
Gauteng area), Mabalingwe also features a 1200 m runway
and helipad for visitors preferring to fly in.
Some of the more unusual features found at Mabalingwe
include an exciting trail especially for 4 X 4 enthusiasts
and a paint-ball course where corporate warriors and
other adrenalin addicts can let off some steam. Mabalingwe’s
main resort, Ingwe, offers visitors relaxation and leisure
in the midst of the breath-taking Bushveld. Relax and
take in the view in our ladies bar (equipped with digital
satellite TV), or enjoy a gourmet meal in our restaurant
which is renowned for its varied Bushveld fare and excellent
service.

exciting day of game-viewing. Soothe those aches and
pains in the heated pool, jacuzzi
or sauna.
Those in need of excitement
of a different nature can make use of the Carousel Casino
shuttle, which transports Mabalingwe guests to and from
the Carousel one evening each week at no additional
charge. So whether you want to make a day, weekend or
holiday of it, Mabalingwe has it all. |

A trip
for the senses, a journey for the soul. Sculpted African

in metal cones and stick furniture on raised decks where
herds of elephant graze at your feet.
Enjoy drinks and snacks at sunset with a view of the
African bush as far as the eye can see, dramatic red

mountains.
Experience game drives in open landrovers and birding
safaris and informative walks. In addition, there are
game ranger training courses and advanced 4x4 driving
courses – the list is endless. When it comes to
food, suffice it to say Makalali was selected as one
